CHARLY SVEABORG
Multilingual and well-educated, Charly Sveaborg earned degrees in several respected academic fields before becoming a writer. His style has been described as Da Vinci Code meeting Nordic Noir, and the phenomenal success of the Millennial trilogy has spawned talks of Hollywood movie deals.

Charly’s latest novel, the third and final installment in the Millennial trilogy, The Girl who Played with Men who Hate Women (2023) is coming out in the fall of 2023, and is set to break the mind-blowing sales records set by the previous two parts.
Charly Sveaborg Biography
Charly Sveaborg was born in the Åland archipelago into a wealthy fenno-swedish family. His father is Totte Sveaborg, senior partner at Sveaborg & Sveaborg Law, and his mother is Ursula Bernadotte-Sveaborg, related to Swedish nobility in an undisclosed way. Charly had a fairly normal childhood despite his extraordinary family, he was an athletic child but also interested in creative arts.
Charly has masters degrees in law, medicine and business, and it’s been speculated that his academic excellence is partially what makes his writing so believable. After his multiple graduations Sveabord took a year to travel around the world, to find himself, he has said, and during these travels took up detective novels. He has named Stieg Larsson and Dan Brown as his favourite airplane reads as well as the biggest inspirations for pursuing fiction writing himself.
Following the success of the Millennial trilogy, Sveaborg has worked as a guest columnist for newspapers and magazines, and appeared on television as well. He’s known as an open and jovial person but has understandably become a little more careful about sharing too much following his explosive rise to fame. That has not stopped him from showing off his stylish island homes in Sweden, Åland and Turku archipelago.
Charly Sveaborg’s career in fiction writing got off to a great start when he published his debut novel, A Man Called Pike, in 2018. A murder mystery played out against the idyllic backdrop of the Åland fisherfolk culture caught the attention of readers locally as well as internationally, and got Sveaborg nominated for several awards for new writers.
His second publication, Tropic of Crab (2020) was thematically similar but this closed room mystery changed the setting to a posh party at a luxurious mansion. Despite the good reception, this book did not bring Charly any award wins, either.
It was his third book, the first part of what would later be known as the Millennial trilogy, The Investment Portfolio that Came Crashing Down, that truly catapulted him into literary superstardom in 2021. Breaking records all over Scandinavia and later Europe, it was unanimously loved by readers and critics alike, and had people clamouring for more.
The fans’ prayers were answered in 2022 when the second part of the trilogy, The Teenage Avenger, finally came out. His popularity showing no signs of waning, rumours about a third Millennial book started circulating almost immediately.
The third and final part of the Millennial trilogy, The Girl who Played with Men who Hate Women, is set for publication in the early fall of 2023.
Charly’s fast-paced writing style and clever plots full of unexpected twists have made him immensely popular all over the world. His action packed spy stories invite the readers into the dark underworld of the Åland harbors. Sveaborg has undoubtedly earned his place next to the biggest names of the genre, Dan Brown and Stieg Larsson.
The lead character of the Millennial books is detective Micke Knullander, a born and bred ålander whose complicated past is slowly revealed during the course of the trilogy. Raised in a simple fisher family but revealed to be of noble blood, Knullander faces exceedingly cruel and bloody cases and doesn’t always make it out unscathed. Other recurring characters include Inspector Horst Kickel, Knullader’s supervisor and cafe owner Nils Sörsselson with his dog, Henry Fjord.
